   The Black Panther party had directly opposed the involvement of Black men in the Vietnam War
   On August 11, 1965, LA's South Central neighborhood of Watts became a scene of great racial tension
   While the message in Oakland was one of "Black Power", in SF it was "Free Love"
   The 60's & 70's were the most explosive time for music
